About us
TRANSGEO was founded in 1992 with private capital and with the mission of improving Bulgaria’s railway infrastructure. From optimising the geometry of the track, our goals have expanded to the entire investment design process — with three permanent offices — in Sofia, Sliven and Plovdiv.
History of the company
- 1992 — Five young engineers — like-minded and full of enthusiasm — founded TRANSGEO. As early as 1992–1993 the company developed and introduced into the Bulgarian railways a new method for track geometry surveys and track referencing (benchmark installation).
- 1995 — TRANSGEO became the first private company in Bulgaria to receive official permission to carry out track geometry surveys and track referencing on the Bulgarian State Railways (BDZ) network.
- 1997 — The company was one of the founders of the Association of Geodesy Firms in Bulgaria.
- 2000–2001 — Licence from the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry for technical activities under the Law on Ownership and Use of Agricultural Lands (No. F-342/14.02.2000), and from 2001 — legal capacity for cadastral activities from the Cadastre Agency (order No. 791/31.08.2001).
- 2003 — TRANSGEO became a co-founder and member of the Bulgarian Association of Consulting Companies in Railway Construction and a member of the Business Initiative Union.
- 2004 — Licence No. LK-000133/14.07.2004 — the right to carry out conformity assessment of investment projects and construction supervision under the Spatial Development Act.
- 2008–2011 — Since 2008 the company has worked with an ISO 9001 quality management system, and since 2011 — with an integrated management system under ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001.
- 2019 — On 21.11.2019 TRANSGEO became a legally authorised entity of the GCCA. That year, in a joint venture, it also started design work on the Radomir – Gyueshevo railway line: about 74 km of new line and 9 tunnels.
- 2024 — TRANSGEO became part of the Institute for Transport Infrastructure.

The BNR Children’s Radio Choir
A constant helper and sponsor of the choir; at TRANSGEO’s 15th anniversary in 2007, in Hall 9 of the National Palace of Culture, the guests were greeted by the young singers and by Acad. Hristo Nedyalkov himself.

1998–1999
Symphony concerts
Sponsor of a series of concerts in Vratsa, Sliven and Burgas with the local philharmonic orchestras and the young conductor Stefan Nedyalkov — in years when culture was out of favour.

2000
St. Nicholas Church in Dryanovo
A donation for the restoration of the church built by Kolyo Ficheto in 1849–1851, on the occasion of the national celebration of 200 years since the master builder’s birth.

Scholarships for students, taking part in the award ceremonies for the top graduates in Geodesy, Photogrammetry and Cartography, and offering an employment contract after graduation.
